Let's talk about writing...

My name is Kasaan Hammon. I have always loved words. I am awed and humbled by the power of them. I love to teach words in many modes to show students of all ages how we can use our words effectively to explore ideas, affect change, and build relationships. ​

For ten years, I have taught songwriting, creative writing, and English at a high school for the performing arts in California. I love the intersection of art and academia, and I am always looking for ways to enhance creativity in the classroom to positively impact learning outcomes. I am also a founding member of my undergraduate university's writing center.

 

My main mode of writing is songwriting, but I also enjoy writing poetry, narrative nonfiction, editorial, advertorial, and other multi-genre creative content. My work has been published online and in various print publications including The Malibu Times and Palms to Pines magazine.
